The Dreams of Sha Ma is a cycle of tales rooted deeply in the nature of consciousness, a journey through the eternal struggle between dreams and reality.
The first book in this cycle is titled Echoes of the Sha Ma. Through four stories, it unveils various facets of the Sha Ma concept to illuminate how Sha Ma herself is essential in maintaining the delicate balance of the world.
Sha Ma embodies a fragment of consciousness that leads to the realm of Probuddah—a place where beings do not simply dream, but exist in the purest form of life, fully awakened to the true nature of existence. To enter this world and attain such clarity from our own, one must quiet the mind to a dreamlike state, while lifting the consciousness beyond all known boundaries. This can only be achieved through an unwavering will, strict discipline, and a life chosen against the currents of expectation and comfort.
For the inhabitants of Probuddah, our world—into which Sha Ma enters—is that of the nearly blind. Just as we, lost in dreams, remain unaware of our slumber, so too are we deceived into believing we are awake. In our deep, shadowed dreams, the fleeting moments when we brush against true reality are ironically known as “dreamings.” Only a rare few can recognize these moments for what they are and truly face the harshness of the truth. And even fewer still can heed these dreamings, learning from them to find their path to Probuddah.
We are all ensnared in a Cunning UpsideDown Dream, where all is inverted, and it is the sorrow of this truth that silently weighs on our hearts, even if we are unaware of it. Yet, there are those among us—forces, enduring through the ages—who hold onto a fragile hope. They wait for the right moment, the precise alignment of circumstances, when they may awaken the dreamers from their slumber. Until that time comes, their role is to prevent the world from sinking further into a sleep from which there is no return. They are the Protectors, and they are few.
Sha Ma is a fragile yet forever powerful figure, essential for the survival of free minds. Though she does not belong to the world of cunning cruelty, she is here to imbue it with the strength to change.
